With the championship race being held at the Gold Coast for the first time in a couple of years we thought that the Outdoor Types should give it a go. We figured out that the venue would probably be in Nerang state forest with the Nerang River being so close for the kayaking leg.
I did a couple of training runs with the other Outdoor Types at Nerang ..... it was hot, very steep and rocky ..... again we wondered what we were doing entering a race that was to be a lot harder than our first event.
A couple of us also went for a training ride at the Gap Creek trails which were a lot of fun although we did both manage to fall of in rather spectacular fashion .... without injury which is always good.
