Australia Day - by the sea

After all the wet weather and floods, it was great to get out by the water (with about 1,000 of our closest friends) and play in kayaks, eat sausages and rissoles, drink (ginger) beer and have a generally good time.

The surf out on Currumbin Alley in the kayaks was a lot of fun too.

Surfing with Dolphins

One of the  highlights of life for me is surfing with dolphins. On this occasion a pair of bottlenose dolphins were cruising around us as we waiting for the swell to arrive.

Another time, I have been surfing a wave on my surfboard and looked across to see that I was sharing the experience with a dolphin, merely metres away.  :-))

Some fun in the surf

The forecast 20-25kts and 2m seas on a 2m swell didn't eventuate but there were some fun, clean waves to be had on the Gold Coast yesterday.

Who doesn't love dolphins

Dolphins just love to play ... here are a couple surfing a bow wave today. Truly great fun.

Byron Bay sea kayak surfing

Its always fun to harness the power of nature and Byron Bay was the perfect place to do it. Be it body surfing, with a board or a 5.4m sea kayak, catching a wave is an exhilarating experience.
