Race day.

It had poured with rain all night and was still raining as we drove off to the race. The grey skies hid the dawn and made us wonder what we were doing driving up the highway early on a Sunday morning to race around in the bush all day.

Most of the other competitors were having the same thoughts on this cold and wet October morning. That was until the race started ......

With adrenalin pumping, my competitive nature got my legs pumping as we pedalled up that first hill. There were many muddy puddles splashed through, people passed and obstacles conquered !!! This was a LOT of FUN.

We did very well in our first adventure race and throughly enjoyed it. What a great excuse for getting muddy and dirty like we did as kids !!!

How it all started.....

A few friends had discussed the idea of going in an adventure race .... it seemed a good idea at the time. As it got closer and we started to train, I dragged may old bike out and when for a ride in the local forest. After 15 minutes I had made my self feel like vomiting three times and decided that I had a long way to go before I would be fit enough to compete in the race.

I thought about it for a few days and got serious. I outlayed $700 for a new bike and started riding to work. It was six weeks before the race.
